Who Am I?

A few years ago I would have begun to answer the question by listing demographic information and references. How many of you would not start just that way? It would go something like this, "My profession is ......., my education was at ...... to a level of ....., my wife is ...., my kids are ..., my parents are ..., I live at ..., I drive a ..., I vote ..., my hobbies are ..., etc. Of course all that sort of information is interesting as it is the current history of our life experience this lifetime. But if you are prowling this site you already know or at least strongly suspect that we are all much more than that. So, back to the original question, "Who am I?".

This lifetime I'm Charles L. Smith, aka, Chuck. I've had many hats during my 64+ trips around the sun -- father, teacher, manager, husband, technologist, reverend, psychic and more. I'm an American mutt genetically including Scots, Native American, and Dutch.

I am an immortal spirit with a mortal body experiencing life as a human person. I haven't always known this, and if fact was taught as a child to see it as being a body with a soul. A small distinction perhaps, but the first time I considered my circumstance the former way, there were so many questions that I suddenly knew could be answered. I didn't necessarily know the answers, but at least realized that they were not the imponderables I had carried for years, but rather questions for which there were real and generally simple answers.

When I was a small child and for many years to come there would be times that I would 'just know' information, facts, data, of a nature that there was no explanation for my knowing it. I grew up in a family that loved to play table games -- bridge, pitch, dominos, etc. -- and there would be times when I would be able to 'see' the cards in other players hands. I met a lady on my first day at a new job and proceeded to give her a reading for about twenty minutes or so during which time I reminded her of the place and circumstance of her husband's proposal to her, information about her brother and parents, the area of Upstate New York where they both grew up, and much more. When I finished, she demanded to know how I knew all this, and I wish I could have told her. Today, I could.

Well, there are many more such stories I could relate, but the gist of it is that I was driven to try and find out more about "How this worked?" or better yet, "What this is?". Eventually I met a lady who explained that she was a clairvoyant and was happy to give me some information and direction. One step led to another and I found people to study with and learn from.

Since that time, I continue to study, of course, and have been teaching as well for about 12 years. I have growing private practice as well as a clairvoyant and spiritual healer. When asked about it these days, my answer is, "I've not done anything this lifetime that brings me more personal validation, joy and just plain fun!".
